Merged data from nationwide public opinion surveys from May 2013 to December 2024
Version 1.0, published: Jan. 2, 2025. Open Access 67
Description
The dataset includes data collected from a series of public opinion surveys conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation in cooperation with the Razumkov Centre sociological service and Centre of Political Sociology from May 2013 to December 2024. In total, the dataset includes 9 nationwide public opinion surveys. A total of 16602 adult respondents participated.
The dataset includes questions that reveal Ukrainians' attitudes towards European ("What direction of integration should Ukraine take?") and Euro-Atlantic integration ("Which security option do you think would be best for Ukraine?") before and during the Russian invasion (2014 and 2022). In addition, the main social and demographic characteristics of the respondents were added to the dataset: gender, age, macro-region of residence, type of settlement, education, and financial situation.
The years 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2023 are omitted from the dataset, as the questions of European and Euro-Atlantic integration were not raised in these years. After Russia's full-scale invasion, the question of Euro-Atlantic integration has changed significantly, so it has not been added to the dataset since May 2022.
Composition of macro-regions:
West – Volyn, Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions;
